Texas DPS Identifies Truck Driver that Caused Fatal Hit-and-Run

Martin County, TX (June 6, 2022) – A fatal hit-and-run accident occurred Monday afternoon around 12:45 pm in Martin County. 

The motorcyclist, Anthony Golibart, was traveling West on SH 178 when Christopher Carman, the driver of a commercial truck, turned north onto CR 2601 striking the motorcycle from the rear.  DPS reports that Carman fled the scene. 

Golibart was transferred to Midland Memorial Hospital where he later died from his injuries.

Deputies were able to locate Carman’s truck near Tarzan, TX, and the company that owned the truck was fully cooperative with authorities while they investigated. 

Carman has now been arrested and charged with Felony Accident involving personal injury or death.
