Man Dies in Crash Outside of Artesia

Rollover Crash Causes Serious Injury, Fatality

New Mexico State Police reported on Monday that a rollover crash about 40 miles from Artesia killed a Texas man and injured another.

Jegar Atchinson was traveling east on Highway 82 in a GMC truck when the vehicle left the roadway and rolled. Atchinson, 43, of Cedar Hill, Texas, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Another Texas Man, 22, whose name was not realized, was injured in the crash and flown to Lubbock for advanced care.

It does not appear that alcohol was involved at all in the crash.

The crash is still under investigation by New Mexico State Police.
