One Killed in Commercial Motor Vehicle Accident on U.S. 54 In Quay County

Quay County, NM (May 15, 2022) – Sunday morning, around 9:32 am, a man was killed after a two-vehicle collision that occurred on U.S. 54 near Nara Visa by the New Mexico and Texas state line.

A 2022 Freightliner Commercial Motor Vehicle traveling eastbound on U.S. 54 crossed over the center line where it sideswiped a 2019 Volvo CMV that was traveling westbound.

The driver of the Volvo CMV, 41-year-old Roger Craghead, was pronounced dead at the scene. The Freightliner driver was treated and released at an area hospital.

New Mexico State Police are still investigating this crash.
