Do You Need to Sue Your Insurance Company after a Car Crash?
Clients often ask if they need to sue the insurance company after a car wreck claim. It does depend on the situation, the nature of the car wreck, and even the insurance company involved. Many times a claim against the insurance company can be resolved without filing a lawsuit. It is more likely that the case can be resolved if an attorney is involved. The insurance company will often try to lowball or not treat someone involved in a car wreck fairly if they don’t have an attorney. Sometimes, even with an attorney involved, the insurance company will not be reasonable, and will not pay fair value for your claim, and a lawsuit will have to be filed. Many times we have filed a lawsuit, and the insurance company will transfer the claim at that point from one adjuster to another adjuster, and more money will be offered simply by filing a lawsuit.
