Residential Treatment Center Abuse

In recent years, we’ve seen a growing need to help people who were injured at residential treatment centers. A couple years ago, Paris Hilton came out and talked about her experience at a residential treatment center and it brought a lot of light to the issue. She talked about how men pulled her out of her bed in the middle of the night as a teenager and put her in handcuffs. She thought she was being kidnapped. As Paris Hilton’s story shows, RTCs can be dangerous places. RTCs are supposed to provide treatment for kids with behavioral problems, drug or alcohol addiction, or mental health issues. But too often, RTCs abuse the residents they are entrusted to care for.
