Man Charged With DWI After Causing Crash That Hospitalized 2 Teens
Lubbock, TX (June 12, 2022) – A drunk driving accident occurred Sunday around 8:50 PM around 19th St and West Loop 289. A man was arrested after causing the injuries of 2 teenagers.
Upon arrival at the scene, Lubbock Police Department found the driver, a 16-year-old female, and Elexa Gray, the 17-year-old passenger were both injured. Both females were transported to University Medical Center with moderate to serious injuries.
Their car was traveling northbound when it collided at an intersection with a truck driven by 41-year-old Cayetano Calzoncit, who was traveling eastbound.
Calzoncit was arrested for the charge of Driving While Intoxicated and has been transported to Lubbock County Detention Center.
Lubbock Police are still investigating this crash.
