One Man Killed from Suspected Oilfield Accident

Carlsbad, NM (July 4, 2022) – Monday morning around 7:45 a.m. near the intersection of Angel Ranch Rd and Burton north of Carlsbad, at an oil and gas operations site, a man was found dead at the scene. 

New Mexico Office of Medical Investigators (OMI) pronounced 36-year-old Jose Martin Moreno Nunez, Jr. dead. 

Eddy County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy, Matt Hutchinson stated that no criminal activity was suspected in his death and there is no reason to suspect a threat to the public.
