Two-Vehicle Collision in Loving County Leads to 6 Dead and 4 Injured

Loving County, TX (May 30, 2022) – Around 6:00 am on County Road 300 at Ranch to Market Road 652, a car crash caused the death of 6 people and injured 4 others. 

Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) reported that a Toyota truck slammed into the side of a Ford F-250 causing the Toyota to travel through the intersection and crash into a utility pole while the Ford ended up in a barrow ditch. 

Four passengers within the Toyota, Leoncio Tavera-Trejo, Marco Antonio Tavera-Trejo, Ernestro Lugo, and Efrain Cruz-Camacho, were pronounced dead on the scene as well as two others, Christopher Villarreal and Alejandro Diaz.

Two more people were taken to University Medical Center in Lubbock, Oscar Rico and Juvenal Segura. Rico is in critical condition and Segura is in stable condition.

Among the passengers of the Ford truck were Cruz Hernandez Rubiel and Gustavo Villarreal. They were both taken to a Medical Center Hospital in Odessa where Rubiel is in serious condition and Villarreal is in stable condition.

This crash is still under investigation as the crash report indicates the speed limit was 70mph and conditions were dry and clear.
