Sunday Night Pick-Up Crash Leaves One Dead

Lubbock, Texas — The Department of Public Safety have released the name of the victim that died in a car crash on Sunday night.

According to the press release, a pick-up truck driven by Ricky Kyle Cross, 63, of Wilson, was driving south on County Road 3100 when he came to a stop sign.

A second pick-up truck, driven by Lorena Meza, 40, of Muleshoe, was traveling on southeast on US Highway 84 when Meza came upon the County Road 3100 intersection.

Cross failed to stop at the stop sign and drove right onto US Highway 84. when Cross turned into the northwest bound lanes, both pick-ups collided.

The press release states that Cross dies at the scene and Meza and their passengers were transported to University Medical Center.

During the time of the accident, Cross was not wearing a seatbelt.
