Two Killed in Fiery Car Crash in Midland

Midland, Texas (August 3, 2022) – At approximately 5:00 am on Wednesday Morning, a fiery two-vehicle crash occurred that killed two people.

Texas Department of Public Safety troopers responded to the crash on SH 349 where both vehicles caught fire. The two individuals that were involved in the crash were 38-year-old James William Featherston and 55-year-old Jose Alferez Castillo. They were both pronounced dead at the scene.

Further investigation found that a semi-truck and trailer, driven by Castillo, was approaching the CR 140 intersection traveling south on SH 349. A Dodge Ram 2500, driven by Featherston, was traveling east on CR 140 when he failed to yield the right of way at the intersection and hit Castillo.

Upon impact, both vehicles caught fire.
